La ausencia de traducción del manual de instrucciones (o una traducción incompleta) se considera infracción en España conforme a la Ley 21/1992, de 16 de julio, y puede acarrear sanciones para el fabricante y el distribuidor. Las infracciones se clasifican en muy graves, graves o leves, según el grado de daño que se desprenda de las mismas.
